My top picks for self-improvement books:The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle
I have lost count of the number of times I have read, or referred to this self-improvement book. It continues to deepen my understanding of creating and maintaining a content life.
Eckhart Tolle explains in depth the power of living in the present moment. This isn’t a ‘hippie spiritualist book’, but rather a pragmatic explanation of how our thinking mind sabotages our own happiness.
The Power Of Now isn’t an easy weekend escape, but it is well worth taking the time to read, review and understand the teachings of Eckhart Tolle.
The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield.
If you like action and adventure books you will love The Celestine Prophecy.
It is the story of a normal average man who is called to action to track down an ancient manuscript that contains nine insights into modern life. The beauty of this book is that it is also a guidebook for the reader to better understand life events and why they are living the life they are.
My dad first gave me this book in my early 20’s and it totally blew my mind. It is a book I still enjoy reading every few years.
This book found me when I most needed it. I was at a low point in my life and could have easily slipped into a depression.
Soul Lessons And Soul Purpose by Sonia Choquette helped me understand that I can choose how I feel, respond and experience life. This book super charged my spiritual development and gave me a huge shift in perception.
I am not a religious person and this book often refers to ‘God’. Even though I connect with the content, I find the continual reference to God a little off putting. I overcame this by mentally changing the word ‘God’ for ‘Universe’.
Wherever You Go, There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn
Wherever You Go, There You Are is a powerful introduction to mindfulness.
While Eckhart Tolle introduced me to the concept of living in the moment, Jon Kabat-Zinn gave me the tools to actually LIVE in the present moment.
This book was written for people who want to explore mindfulness without being presented with a rigid, spiritualistic program.
The next self-improvement books I plan to read:
So now I have revealed my top four self-improvement books, I now have a list of three books I have committed to reading over the next six months.
The Untethered Soul is focused on self-awareness and understanding our ego mind. I first heard about ‘The Untethered Soul’ through friends but decided to read it when I read this review which convinced me it was a worth while read.
“What does it feel like to identify more with Spirit than with form? You used to walk around feeling anxiety and tension; now you walk around feeling love.Michael Singer, The Untethered SoulThe Four Agreements by Miguel Ruiz and Janet Mills
In The Four Agreements, Miguel Ruiz and Janet Mills discuss the four principles to practice in order to create love and happiness in your life.
Since I LOVE exploring happiness, gratefulness, kindness, and love; reading this book is a no brainer for me.

I need to read You Are A Badass.
I still suffer from many limiting beliefs that hold me back from achieving the greatness I know I am capable of.
